Talent Pipelining

The challenge:

A major global manufacturing company decided to consolidate its entire supply chain organisation and move it to China from other sites scattered around the world.

This decision was taken in the knowledge that not all of their existing supply chain workforce would be able to relocate to China – but it was impossible to know where the talent gaps would appear in advance of the move.

The solution:

We built a pipeline of high-performing procurement and purchasing specialists within the supply chain job family in Asia.

We mapped the market, identifying appropriate talent at various levels of seniority and then reached out to selected individuals to assess their level of interest in hearing about opportunities.

The pipeline was populated with individuals who were able to consider opportunities immediately as well as those who could be interested at a later stage.

The outcome:

When the supply chain operation eventually moved, our client was able to fill many of the resultant vacancies directly from the pipeline, approaching high-performing Asian candidates who had already expressed an interest and were consequently receptive to the approach.

Because there are no additional fees for hires made from a talent pipeline provided by Succession Research, our client also saved a considerable amount of money.
